Mary Gentry, 112 years of age passed away quietly in her sleep at Newville, AL, last week. Born in 1897, educated at Newton, AL, went to Troy State when it was a girls’ school, was at her son’s home, who’s 81.
Keeping that in mind, Mrs. Ruth Lambert, age 90 had a birthday last week she lives NE of Bainbridge on Lambert Road congrats on making it to 90. Her mother-in-law, kin it me made it to 102. Many more.
One boat Friday got deep into the hybreds and loaded the boat, they had close to twenty up to 6 lbs. each.
The Federation Nation Youth qualifying tournament for state title champ, who will go on the next step in the state competition, was held at Wingate’s on Saturday. Hunter Neel had big fish in his age group with a 3.18 and Dawson Lenz had big fish in his age group, a 3.46. that was big fish of the tournament.
The winner by age group 11-14 years was:
- 1st Drake Barlo 2 fish at 3.57 lbs
- 2nd Hunter Neel 1 fish @ 3.18
- 3rd Joey Sloan 1 fish @ 2.69
15-18 year olds:
- 1st Dawson Lenz 5 fish at 8.7
- 2nd Andrew Adams 3 fish at 3.34
- 3rd Nick Jeter 3 fish @ 3.34
Total young fishermen 18, 9 boat captians, Chris Neely, director & his Hydrilla Knats was boat captians.
The C & R group held a tournament here Sunday with the following results:
- 1st Brinson & Henderson with 16.95 lbs. Big Fish 7.15
- 2nd Zorn & Thurman with 15.75
- 3rd Shiver and Baty 15.70
A litning storm and rain shook up the water and it seem to have muddyed the Flint some more.
Three boats in the youth group reported seeing bream being caught steady in the moring part of the day.
Mr. Earl Elkins went Saterday and did good on catfish so did a Lownds county boat. Boat sed they left them biting.
