Simplicity, or maybe more brains on my part is what we need.  However, the Hydrilla Gnats Big Fish Tournament will end this Thursday Night, September 3rd.  Funny thing, Tuesday afternoon, the first of September, at 5pm, I will be 80 years old, dang, where did the years go???

Bass has been the hot fish for this week with Crappie a close second.  42 Bass were landed this week by Doug Blackwell and Chuck Kiefer, both of Alabama using a Zoom Speed Worm on them all.  Doug had an 8/18 and Chuck had a 7 pounder, they fished 3 ½ days.  Another boater landed 5 in one hour up to 6 ½ lbs. using Top Water, another boat reported 13 Bass on Popper-R’s making and long sweep on top.  Needle Fish are in the area.  8 Bass taken in a sheltered are on short plastic worms (Paddletails) with pot gut minnows feeding.

The Crappie took a turn for the better.  Mr. Willis has had several good catches of Bass this week on Minnows.  So has Mr. Ray Davis.  Both of them take theirs in stumps, however, the Jig fishermen like open water over 6 to 10 feet of water.

A few good Catfish was taken on Wigglers and Cut Mullet.  If the water gets cloudy again, as I expect it to, they’ll bite the Odor Baits better.  One thing in this line of bait, when on the rise is salt water shrimp.

Bream are still taking a few Crickets for those that are still trying for them.

I almost forgot, Nic Jeter and Mike Prindle won the Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish Tournament with a 6.63 pounder.  The McIntosh team still have Big Fish of the year with an 8.38 pounder unless someone beats them this week.

I like thisen, “Confusious say, ‘If you go on journey of revenge, dig 2 graves before you go.’”  Same as, "Don’t let your mouth overload the rest of your body."

Marilyn Mattlin of Recovery, GA with a +3 lb. Talapia that she and her husband, Dave, caught.
