The courts have decided to put the coal fired power plant on track in Early Co., GA. That will cause an up rizen in that part of the state.

The Re-enactment of the Battle of Marianna will take place Sept. 26th and 27th in conjunction with the Fall Festifull. Should be good.

Did you know that Buzz Aldrin, when he stepped on the moon, was an elder in the Presbyterian Church in Houston? The pastor of that church gave him a small communion set to take with him in space. The first food consumed on the moon was a communion wafer and thimble size silver chalice of wine! I never knew that until last Friday.

The Sunshine Bassmasters of Tallahassee fished last Saturday from 4pm to 1am. Matt Baty took first place with 5 fish at 22 lbs., Clint Brown took second with 18 lbs. and Kim Brown took third with 15 lbs. Matt is from Attapulgus, Clint is from Recovery and Kim is from Quincy.

The Jack Wingate Thursday Night Big Fish tournament was won by Clint Brown and Tanner Lee with a 7.28 pounder. Second place was taken by David Kirk and Lance Reynolds with a 7.02 pounder.

Johnny and Jonathan Moore of Cairo, GA had a nice mess of Bass, Pam Martin-Wells and Stephen had a limit of Bass up to 5 lbs. each. The Bass was slower than they have been for some reason. One suspect, however, is because dark nights and the fact that a front has been laying over the area for most of the week.

Don Logdon had 25 Crappie on Jigs while Ray Davis took 23 on Minnows. Ray Davis took 29 on Tuesday in 25 feet of water fishen 8 foot deep. The Rev. Russ Rodgers took 22 Crappie, 23 ft. deep on Jigs.

One fish short of a limit (14) was taken on Tuesday on live bait, while on Thursday, a full limit was taken on Jiggen Spoons up to 6 lbs. by Mike Sloan.

On Tuesday Alan Carter, guiding Bill Williams, took 2 limits, one at 3.25 lbs. On Thursday, they went back and took 78, all on Wigglers. It’s been a fair week on fishen, not the best, but not the worst.

Mark Pope and Scott Brown had 50 Redbellies on beds, 3 foot or less. Mr. Whiddon, using a Beetle Spin in 2 feet of water landed 23 big Redbellies.

Thomas Scott and son, Zarron, of Cairo, had a nice cooler of Big Channels and Blues.

Rodney and Keith Childree of Valdosta had 6 big Bass on Scum Frogs.

The English and Mueller families took 9 good Catfish noodlin’ up to 10 lbs.
