Seminole Ramlin's

January 18, 2009

I was invited to the 5th Annual Paul Faircloth Disabled Hunt put on by our own County Commissioner, Russell Smith over near Mount Pleasant Cemetary over in Florida. There was more than 20 handycapped hunters there for the noon meal. ChadGerlough got an 8-point on Friday evening. If you remember, it was 25° Saterday morning, but they all bundled up and headed out before daylite to their stands. Saterday afternoon, 5 bucks and 4 does and 6shirttails were cut. That was the best hunt ever and didn’t pick up a gun.

Deer season is out, now that will increase the fishen season somewhat and soon as duck season goes out, the only way for PaPa to get out of the house is to go fishen. The Club Tournements will increase to 2 or 3 each week.

16 Bass was taken up to 4 lbs. on Diving Baits and Jerk Baits. The Valdosta Bassmasters fished out Saterday in 25° weather. The winner was Mike Hendrix and he had big fish with 6.12 lbs.

The Hydrilla Gnats held their club tournement down on the Appalachicola River Saterday in the cold weather too. Paul Tyre won first and Big Fish with 8.65 lbs., Andy Koundourakis took second with 7.60 and Mike Sloan took third with 5.65. They were all Spotted Bass. Those guys sure like a challenge.

According to Bassmaster Magazine, Rep. Dingel (D) of Michigan has always been a friend of the Sportsman. Mr. Obama has Rep. Dingel with Rep. Henry Waxman (D) of California who has always voted for animal rites (PETA) and with the anti- gun rites. That was a bad choice. He has a lot going for him, we need to burn coal, we have enough to last 150 years in the USA. His stand on wind power is also good, and to drill and tap the Desten Dome for natural gas would be great, but to take my guns away ain’t a good choice.
