This in for those in the fishing industry, bait, boat and tackleshops. We in the above, raised so much sand about our license and boat registration fees going to a bank in Missouri until it was changed. Now it has been put in the hands of a Project Manager. Now this Manager’s name is David Neghart and his phone number is (706)537-3562. He has moved the license operation to a bank in Maryland. I found this out by registering my Ganoe and Old Red, my 1972 Ranger boat. The Ganoe was $15.00 and the handling fee was $8.00, the old Ranger was $36.00 with an $8.00 handling fee on top of that. Now $2.00 went into the hands of Mr. Neghart and the rest went into the bank in Maryland. It is my thought that with times as tite as they are, Georgia needs the money to be kept here in the courthouses of each county so anyone can go to the courthouse and get their license or register their boat and any fee for handling can be paid to our courthouse crew.
Now, if you think I’m rite you could call or email the Governor’s Office, the Director of the DNR in Atlanta or Mr. David Neghart’s number. This is NOT going to rest until it’s back in Georgia.
Paul Tyre and his 2 year old daughter, Jaydyn, had a great outing with Ms. Gale Goodman and her 11 year old son, Gus on her pontoon boat on Wednesday. Every time they slid a Minnow in the water, up would come a Speckled Perch. Little Jaydyn would giggle, hug it and kiss it, then throw it back. Just great fun for a 2 year old.
The Dunellen Bass Club fished out of Wingate’s over the weekend with 17 lbs. being taken by the top fisherman. This group comes twice a year to spend 3 or 4 days on Lake Seminole. There was 2 Bass that came to the scales over 7 lbs.
The Valdosta Bass Club also fished out of Wingate’s and their club winner weighed in 14 lbs. with 2 Bass over 5 lbs. We note that there is at least 7 Bass Clubs in Loundes Co. That’s a lotta clubs.
Hybrids and Stripers schooled good Wednesday. Lots were caught but some broke off and went south. They showed up the next day also but none were taken.
We have had several good catches of Perch made on Jigs and Minnows. Some in the 2 lbs. class. All are good and fat and taste sooooo good.
