Seminole Ramlin's

March 30, 2008

Perch fishen picked up toward the end of the week with calmer weather.  Jigs and Minnows did good bout 7 ft. deep.  Some folks with docks in the proper place could catch more setton on their docks than out in the Lake sed one gent.  One boat reported 2 limits of Perch on Minnows.

So far as we know, no one has hit a Cracker bed (as of Saterday evening) however a lot of folks are out there looking for them.

Randy Weaver, Bass fishen on Tuesday heard a Gobbler talkin in the woods so Wednesday he went a Gobbler hunting and had one a 19 lbs. and a big ole long beard.  To some folks in the Bass fishen world, Turkey hunting comes on strong in its season.

You take Pam Martin-Wells is one of them that will call a Turkey into the living room and she did on Friday.  She was like a little girl with a new toy.  As I have sed, she is one great outdoors person.  We have heard of another grapevine being shot into and the Gobbler walked off.

Our old friend, “Roland Martin” is one who will run a mile through the swamps just to get ahead of a drove of Turkey and he can talk to them on a caller.

All week long these Bass fishermen have been tellen me they weren’t biting.  I couldn’t believe what they was saying.  It seems at the Boat Basin park weigh-in they had bout been lying.  There was total limits taken, 47, total weight, 1299.04 lbs. and 97% of them were released alive in the Boat Basin with the help of Bryson Arthur.

On the Angler (boater) side, Russ Pearson of Columbus, GA took first place with 5 at 19.06 lbs. of Bass.  Almost a 5 lbs. average on his catch.  Course, now his brother and father taught him all he knows about fishen.  Number 2 place went to Davy Thomas of Sumpter, SC with 5 at 19.01 lbs.  Almost 5 lbs. average.  Third place went to Joey Weaver of Macon, GA with 17.14 lbs. of fish.  There was 11 catches of 5 fish over 14 lbs.  A good showing in most anyone’s lake.  Mr. Buddy Madden of Milledgeville, GA had Big Fish on the boater’s side with a big 6.14 lbs. Bass and she looked layed out.

Now the Co-angler side of the field went like this.  Ryan Lamb from Lilburn, GA took first place with 16.10 lbs. and he is only 18 years old.  And he had Big Fish, a big old sow at 10.4 lbs.  Michael Burrell of Marietta, GA had 15.02 lbs. in 5 fish and Shawn Makom of Monroe, GA had 15.01 lbs. in 5 fish.  Weights like this is why Seminole is “THE BASS CAPITAL OF GEORGIA!”
