The wind blew so hard early this week that it blew a contact lense right out of a fisherman’s left eye. He’s still fishen though.
When the British news media told all outlets that an heir to the throne was to go into a battle zone and “ask” not to let the work out that he was there, then the Aussie press picked it up from down under and ran with it. The young man had to be recalled immediately against his will, this story reminds me of trying to tell an old hound dog not to scratch his fleas!
For those who ain’t got there yet, gitten old will sure as the devel slip up on you. Early this past Saterday morning while waiting for the 75 boats to git egged up & coffee filled, I wuz setten there with the new Bassin’ Times in my lap, but I wuz reading the new AARP magazine.

The wind blowed hard all day long and so cold a lot of folks that were planning to fish, got up, looked at the wind blowin, turnt over & went back to sleep, however, there was 75 boats fished the “Backwoods Outdoors Tournament Trail”. The trail is being conducted by R&R. The owner of the trail is a product of “Wingate’s Fishen Camp for Boys”, 20 odd years ago. It’s strange how the gov-mint tryin’ to help, can hurt so many good things.
Would you believe there was 20 limits of fish taken on such a windy day. Mr. Wes Meadows & Brad Reynolds of Leesburg had 22.39 lbs. of fish while Larry and Dale Robinson had the Big Fish, a whopping 8.79. There was 7 – 5 fish limits over 15 lbs. There was at least 5 fish over 5 lbs. caught. I will say this again, Lake Seminole is a fishery not to be denied.
The Crappie and Catfish was good along mid-week when one could fish. However, wind made it tough to hang on to a spot and hangin on to a spot means ketchin or not ketchin.
Some boats were damaged in high winds and stumps. One had to be towed Thursday, Friday & Saterday. The lake was so rough Saterday the engines were comin out of the water and revin up, which is bad on the big engines.
