Talking
about a mad fisherman, our neighbor & long time friend had
caught up to 5 limits of Crappie and had them on ice on his back
porch in a cooler. He set a 40 lbs. battery on top of the lid. His
idea was to take them to work and have a fish fry at noon. Ole
Ber Coon done come up on the porch, kicked off the battery, unlatched
the lid and et his filets. Mad, oh mad was he!!
The
coldest morning we had so far and the highest wind, near 25 mph. I
lost my glasses after going home in the morning. I spent 5
minits in the blistering cold looking for my glasses. I gave
up and went on in the house, I told my daughter that I’d lost
em, she sed, Paw, there they are on your nose?? Gitten
old ain’t for sissies.
All
the fish seem to be confused by the weather, I was asked this Saterday
morning what I would do to catch a Bass, I told them to go to the
cabins and go to sleep. On cold mornings it’s best to
fish in the evenings. They are in town to fish the Stren Series
at the end of the month. Also, I mite add, Fishermen for the
Hungry and Media Bass are going out of Wingate’s this month.
Even
though it’s been windy and blustery, the Perch has hit for
some of the brave souls who braved the cold. One man reported
2 boats fishen 2 people to the boat that they had 4 limits after
cullin for size, 25 ft. deep on Minnows. One of our customers
fell in on the coldest day. We can look to February to have
a few Bass bedding in certain places.
