Steve Holt the Sage of Colquit, GA and Hubert Stafford sed the first 2 fish they caught this morning had coats on, he sed they backed off and built up a fire on a sand bar to warm the water so the Bass would bite.  They were one of the winners in this weekends Fishers of Men Tournement.  The cold snap on Saterday morning slowed the fish down.

36 boats fished the tournement and the winners was like this:  Creel & Stewart had 19.35 lbs. and Big Fish with 5.71 lbs., Mason Brock & Arthur Kelly had 14.16 lbs. and Clint Meeks and Al Cleghorn came in third.  A nice tournement, was enjoyed by all and no one lost a fish, not one.

A nice 10.2 lbs. Bass was taken on Paddle Tail Worm by a non-tournement Fisherman.  Some Big Fish has been taken this week.  2 over 10 lbs. and 3 over 8 lbs.  It sounds like bedding fish to me.

Points to ponder, Les Ager retired D.N.R. of Macon was the guiding influence on Gov. Perdue’s “Go Fish GA Program”.  Les has been a long time friend of mine and he sure hit the nail on the head with that program.

More points to ponder, the Army of Northern VA was never defeated, they just wore themselves out winning battles.

You could give the government the Saharah Desert to manage and in 5 years there would be a shortage of sand.

Some one sed “He loved squirrels so good he wished they got big as German Sheppard Dogs.”

Another fellow sed he ate a piece of Country Ham as big as some poly-titions ego.

Now we talk about Perch a little.  Someone sed a 5 lbs. Crappie was taken on the lake.  We need to see that picture if its available and who caught it.  Some very good catches of Crappie was made this week on Minnows.  This tells us the Crappie are laying eggs in lots of places.  We note that some big Crappie are laying eggs in lots of places.  We note that some big Crappie was taken on baits during the tournement.  Some were heavy with eggs and some layed out.  Some Shellcrackers were also seen near bedding sites.

Shellcrackers were seen in a lot of places today and so were Crappie laying eggs in brush tops and along grass beds.  We sure expect a lot of these two fish to be caught this next week.

Kelly “Pee Wee” Brown of Bainbridge, GA with a nice, 8.6 lbs. Bass he caught out on a pleasure trip on Lake Seminole.
