Let’s begin with bad news. First, as of September this year, Georgia and Florida will not honor 65 fishermen in each others state. That slaps me rite in the face, as I love to fly fish Crooked River in the summer. Crooked River is a tidel river between the Oklocknee and Carabell Rivers. It runs 6 hours one way and 6 hours the other and if full of big ole Red Bellies, Stumpknockers and Shellcrackers. Then down river from the Talquin Dam is some fine fine fly fishen and Beetle Spin for Bream. So be it, it’s done done.

Pole fishermen have had just a good ole time this week. Shellcracker was the No. 1 fish with 6 or 8 hundred of them was taken this week. Surely the Lake should have dropped a little because about the same amount of Crappie was taken. One 10 year old boy, Brandon Jernigan, had a 2 ½ lbs. Crappie.

One man hit Shellcrackers at Faceville Landing and caught 74 with his grandson. He sed launch your boat and follow your nose.

Eddie Ditto, fishen with his son took 18 nice Bass on Plastic. He’s the man who wares the “T-Shirt” saying, “You point, we poke!” meaning he pokes holes in the ground.

Mrs. Pam Martin-Wells finished the WBFL Tournement in 19th place. It’s near Dallas, TX and it was muddy and storming the early part. Only 91 fish caught.

Lots of folks in Georgia are raisen sand about the fishen and hunting license being taken to a bank in Mo. They may raise anuff sand in Gritsville USA to get it changed.

The Chattahoochee produced a 51 lbs. Flathead Catfish this week, but it’s not a GA record nor an AL record but enough to have a fish fry at his church.

Nic Jeter and his buddy, Durran Brock took 2 big Tom Turkeys – looks like Nic can call Turkeys as well as Fish.

Our friend, Jim Yarbrough is now a 2-Star General in the US Army. He will be transferring from Iraq to Fort Polk, LA to train soldiers to go to Iraq. We will miss him around here, he's a great fellow and friend.
