This thing is becoming quite a serious matter with us and it is high time some steps were being taken to see what can be done about it.” Printed in the Columbus Enquirer Sun in “1897”! For those who would like to know, frost fell in Henry County, Alabama and in northern Houston County, Alabama this past Thursday. I am watching close at the frost plant, when they bloom full into white, you can expect a killing frost soon. After day 2 of the BFL, Tim Malcolm of Americus, GA was leading with 26.04 lbs., Jesse Milsaps of Tate, GA was in second with 23.00 lbs. and Kim Carver of Milledgeville, GA was in third with 21.05 lbs. on the boater side. Now the no boater side went like this: Billy Cain of Jackson, GA was in first with 19.13 lbs., Arthur Watson of Iva, SC was in second with 13.15 lbs. and Darren Jeter of Skyland, NC was in third with 13.04 lbs. Felton Langley of Lafayette, AL had Big Fish on day one with 7 lbs. and Mike York of Jackson, GA had Big Fish with 7.12 lbs. On day 3, Allen Cagle of Deltona, FL won the Chevy Truck and Ranger Boat, Kim Carver of Milledgeville, GA came in 2nd to win $4000 and Jesse Milsaps of Tate, GA came in 3rd for $2000. Mr. Cagle had of total 3 day weight of 35.09 lbs. Co-Angler Christopher Brumitt of College Park, GA won the fully rigged Ranger Boat with 21.12 lbs. Billy Cain of Jackson, GA brought in 12.13 lbs. to win $2000 and Arthur Watson came in 3rd to win $1000. Our own Hydrilla Gnats, Mike Prindle and Paul Tyre won the Fishermen for the Hungry Classic Tournament this Saturday with 16.66 lbs. They also had Big Fish with a 7.24 pounder. The Just Friends Bassin' Club out of Ocala, FL came up this weekend and filled all the cabins and motel rooms here at Wingate’s. They said the food and the hospitality were the best but the fishing wasn’t so great. Donnie Peavy and Mike Perryman came in first with a 2 day total of 10.5 lbs., Sean Howard and Chris Calia came in second with a 2 day total of 9.8 lbs. and Derrick Januszyk and Butch Tarwacki came in third with a 2 day total of 6.14 lbs. Eric Bilyou, a Jr. Member of
the Just Friends Bassin' Club out of Ocala, FL with the biggest Bass
caught in their tournament that he caught while out fishing with
local Richard Predmore.
Mike Prindle of Recovery, GA and Paul Tyre of Tallahassee, FL with
their winnings in the Fishermen for the Hungry Classic that they won
