October 21, 2007

I was delivering a “fish talk” to the Southwest GA Sportsman Club last Thursday and was explaining to the 100 or so gathered there about my new 3rd nose that happens to look like a Band-aid.  The I showed them under my right arm where it came from and one gentle-man asked if I had to use a lot of “Right Guard” on my nose, that brought a great laugh & applause.

I suppose you could see why the fire ants were building their nest up hi (to get above the heavy rain fall that we had), now I’ll let you  know that the hornets are building low down on the water that is a sure sign of cold weather & the “Althea Bush” Frost Plant is near to bloom.

The R&R Tournement Trail fished from the State Park with Jackie Hamric winning with 26 lbs. of  Fish.  Jackie Hamric winning on this lake is old news, he is tough.

The Florida Six Man Team is over and we will report the winners as soon as we know.  9 lbs. was leading the 2 day event.

Bass Fishen this week has picked up a rite smart & so has the water flow.  Since Friday we have gained near a foot of stained water and seems to be more on the way.  We have had limit catches all week long made on plastic.  On Thursday afternoon, brothers Andy Kounderakis and Gizmo Roton went out and caught 4 nice Bass with one weighing in at least 9 lbs.

All in all our Kentucky folks has done really well mostly on Plastic.  We did have an Atlanta boat that fished 4 days and had 10 Bass each day & through them all back to live again.  2 Bass in the 8 lbs. class was taken this week on Spinner Baits near the surface.

Andy Kounderakis & Gizmo Roton, both of Recovery, GA with their nice catch from Thursday.
