Well,
we’ve had a real good weekend for outdoor sports here at Wingate’s
and Lake Seminole.
First
off, the Duck Hunters had a blast, literally, with huge numbers of
Ducks killed. Kevin Cook, from Twiggs County, GA brought
3 strappin younguns to hunt and in all, they killed 29 Ducks in 2
days! All Ringnecks and Woodys. Steven Floyd, Chris Whidby,
Josh Cook and Kevin spent the whole night out on the water on Friday
night. It was cold, but I guess it paid off.
Bill
Estes and his bunch came in from Atlanta and
killed a few, but not as many as they would have liked. Of
course, they’ve got old Jake with them, and he gets more attention
than most men around here. The housekeeper even puts out a
special rug for him in the room. Now that’s service.
The
Valdosta Bassmasters fished out this weekend with Earl Roberson winning
with 20.09 lbs. Mike Hendrix was right on his tail with 20.07
lbs. and Morgan Sruill came in third with 9.08 lbs. Earl Roberson
had Big Fish with a whopping 5.01 lbs.
Our
own Hydrilla Gnats had their club tournement on Sunday with Paul
Tyre coming in first with 20.46 lbs., Andy Koundourakis coming in
second with 17.85 lbs. and Chris Neely coming in third with 11.57
lbs. Mike Sloan had Big Fish with 6.81 lbs. They had
some nice fish, I tell ya, those boys know how to fish Lake Seminole.
Wingate’s
will be having their 5th Annual Christmas Parade on Saterday, December
1st. Everyone in the neighborhood will be decorating their
golf carts, lawnmowers, tractors, 4-wheelers and anything else they
have to ride in the parade. Last year we had over 65 participants. It’s
a lot of fun. Come on out and watch it with us.
