By now most of you have heard that Frankie Lavoie won the 6 man Team Tourneyment with a hard earned weight of only 24.39 lbs.  He is a local fisherman and a member of the Rose City Bass Club of Thomasville.  He, Darrell Davis, and one other, was members of the Rose City team that were local anglers.  There was a tie between Lamar Watson and Doug Beck with 2 fish at 7.81 lbs., when in came Mke Faulkner with an 8.10 lbs. out of Gainesville, GA.  He had Big Fish of the tournement, Big Fish of the 2nd day and he admitted using JJ’s Magic of Bread and Butter Tackle Co.  Mr. JJ gave him a check for $1000.00 for using his Magic on the Lures.  The Fish mite have brought in near 3000 bucks for Mr. Faulkner.  Hope so.  PS  A ladie fishin co-angler put fish on the scales both days grinnin’ from ear to ear.  She was a pleaser to see.

One must remember that Sunday morning last, had frost most everywhere.  Also the lake dropped out near a foot.

We had a rumor that a 14.87 lbs. Bass was taken in the Spring Creek Cut.  We are trying to check that out for sure.

We had a nice 6 lb. Bass taken by local fisherman, Louie Ojeda of Recovery, GA, & returned to the lake.

The Perch has been fair to midlin with some very good catches made on Minnows.  Mr. Carl Keim of Bass Island Campground here at Wingate’s brought in a beautiful mess.  We have had them caught from 1 foot to 10 feet and it is exciting to fish for them.

We also have a report that Rooster Tails and Shysters are taking very fine Whites & Hybrids upriver and that many limits of Bream and Shellcrackers are being taken on Crickets.  One boat went 21 days with success each day.
