At the Sheraton Music City Hotel in beautiful Nashville, TN, on August 17th, next week, Mrs. Pam Martin-Wells will be inducted into the “Legends of the Outdoors” Hall of Fame.  Along with her there is Larry Nixon, Marion McCollum, Alex Rutledge, Larry Weishuhn, Steve McAdams and Tommy Akins.  Hank Parker will be the MC.  Ray Scott, Roland Marten, Forrest L. Wood and I hope to be there to see the event.

Good news for the Duck Hunters in the ’07 – ’08 season.  These are the percentages of rises in population from the ’06 season to the ’07 season:  Mallards 10%, Gadwalls 19%, Widgeons 19%, Green Teals 13%, Blue Teals 14%, Northern Shoulders 24%, Pintails 2%, Redheads 10%, Canvas Backs 25% and Scups 6%.  That’s good news.

Bass continues to be slow, however, that may be because we are fishen in the wrong places for them, Bream are bedding in 3 foot of water in a number of places.  We think the Bass are hangin around these beds pickin off small Bream.  This is just my thoughts.  I may be wrong, but they ain’t where they should be for this time of year.  Give it a try.

Mid week White Bass schooled & quite a few was taken on Small Spoons.  White Bass make a slurping sound, where as Hybreds & Stripers make a cracking sound sort of like a 22 shot exploding.

Richard Predmore won the Bainbridge Bass Club’s Fishout Saterday out of Wingate’s with 2 fish – a 5 lbs. and a 2.  Justin Brooks had 5 dinks that weighed in at 5 lbs.  Predmore had Big Fish with the 5 pounder.  The same day a boat reported an 8.5 and a 6.5.  A boat upriver reported 5 Bass taken Saterday, all keepers but nuthin over 4 lbs.
