Seminole Ramlin's April 8, 2007 I was reminded of a column I rote once about in my young days “Roun Faceville”. I rote of seeing iceciclyes hangin off the Methodist Church on Easter Sunday. They weren’t iceciclyes this Easter but it was sleet. Long ago, a cold front would come through & bring rain & after the rain the ground would freeze & spew up. How long has it been since you have sent the ground freeze & spew up??? The Sunrise Service at Wingate’s on the lake this morning was a great success. Near 100 people were there & were served coffee, hot chocolate & donuts before, during and after the service. Sumpthin is going on was the theme, the piano hit the hi note, the turkeys gobbled and the geese honked, the limb rats “squirrels” chattered, the mallards came in and landed with a swish. Such is the out of doors if we jist take the time to listen. Bream and Shellcracker was taken on Fly Rods mid week and gooduns, 2 Cracker beds deep water on worms. A few good ones were taken shallow, however, the front came by Thursday & everything came to a halt. No Perch, no Bream & Crackers, no Bass & it slowed the Whites & Hybrids upstream, but did not stop them, they like a cold snap. They still bite. With warming weather on the horizon we will see an improvement on Fishin in all kinds. Quote of the week, “Fred Thompson is a country fried version of Ronald Reagan.”
Sorry, no pictures this week.
