Seminole Ramlin's April 29, 2007 Last Tuesday a week ago Barney and Michael Miller went out with guide Randy Weaver and caught over 90 lbs. of Bass in 1 ½ hours on Spinner Baits, 3 in the 9 lbs. class. Over shallow grass, this same day we saw our first dishpan of dressed Shellcracker. We saw mid week also a 17 lbs. Flathead and a 37 lbs. Flathead along with 2 coolers of 10 to 20 lbs. Channels and Blues taken on live bait. That was one of the best catches of Cats we have seen in a long time. The “Fishers of Men” turned out to be a great success. 31 teams turned out to fish the event. Mike Anderson & Chris Gullage of Dothan had a Big Fish of 5.54 lbs. Harold Branham & Jeny Tice of Chipley, FL had 17.18 lbs. of Bass, then Robert Stewart of Panama City, FL came up with the Big Fish of 6.76 lbs. The overall weight winner was Steve Stewart and Johnny Creel of Donalsonville & Iron City. Our own entry, young Nick Jeter was one place out of the money. He had 5 fish but they were small. The next Bass news we have is the Shellcrackers started biting Friday & loads of coolers filled with big Shellcrackers and Big Bluegill came in also. Lots of new beds were found, some Shellcrackers 10 inches long. One of the biggest Bass we’ve heard of in a long time was taken this week – a whopping 13 lbs. on a Spinner.
