Seminole Ramlin's October 15, 2006 Toads, Sinkos, Spooks and Pop-R’s are the hottest lures this week on Bass. Many Bass came to the dock this week from 3 to 7 ½ pounds on these baits. John Richardson and Larry Sparkman of Tennessee had 11 in one up to 6 pounds. Jerry Dasch, a local from Bass Island Campground here at Wingates, had 5 on Pop-R one afternoon. We still see no sign of fungus on the fish. The Specks come from shallow water this week, the Jigs are the ticket. They have been fat all year long, seem to be no end to them at all. Bream and Shellcracker did fair on Crickets but the best ones came on Jigs with some Fly Rod catches made on Popping Bugs. The Stink Bait or Blood Bait as you mite want to call it is the ticket rite now for Catfish. You can take wooden paddles and make sure you get a good dose of the stinkin stuff on your worm. The channels will swim upstream into the smell of the stink, in 10 minutes you will have a bite. From then on just keep a bait in the water, they’ll come to you. Kinfolks coming to the Bate’s-Odom family reunion Saterday morning from Jacksonville regersterd 42 degrees all the way to Tallahassee to Bainbridge before it got up to 43 degrees. However at noon Saterday I saw a fresh green Willow Fly here at the landing at Wingates.
