Seminole Ramlin's

March 5, 2006

The week was strong winds and near frost a couple of mornings. It was tough on the Fishermen, however some limit catches of Perch was made. Some in shallow some in deep. The best ones came on Jigs.

Bass is another thing too. We have folks seeing Bass on beds in 2 ft to 8 ft of water. There is a pile of these Bass heading to the beds. By this weekend there will be plenny on beds and those that fish will be well pleased at what they find.

2 big catches of Shellcrackers were reported. All of them in 2 feet or less water. By the way the 12th annual Shellcracker Tournement will take place soon in March.

44 boats launched at Wingate’s Saterday morning, what a pile of fishermen. Amongst them was the Nomad Club of Niceville, FL. Mike Brown weighed in 2 big fat-uns. There is also a Bass Club from Ohio having a week of Bass fun. Me with my coat on and still shiverin and them talking about how warm it is.

One boat Friday had a 7 pounder and another had one at 9.2. Folks there is some fine fish for the taking this coming weekend. Our water has reached 67 degrees and holding good at that. The magic Bass bedding number is 72 degrees. The 12th annual Jack Wingate Open will be held this weekend at Wingate’s and we hope you are here.

Sorry, no pictures this week.
