Seminole Ramlin's July 16, 2006 After a 3 week vacation away from Lake Seminole, Pam Martin-Wells did a number on the Top Water Bass. First morning out, many Top Water Bass, with one at 7 ½ lbs. and one lost in the grass even bigger. She is truly a fine Fisher-Person! We have been loaded down with catches of Bream this week. One boat reported 230 Bream this week on many trips on the lake. Another boat reported Bream with every scale red at the breast scales. What I think he found was a River Bream Bed since he was telling me how they were heavy with eggs. We have not had a Bream bite this good in the heat of summer in a long time. The extreme heat now causes Minnows to die out real soon on the water. However, we are still getting reports of fine Speckle Perch made on Jigs. That still remains a mistory to me. There is a new law just past for the young hunters along the GA / FL line. It is for the good I think. We also saw where not one alcohol related death occurred in the panhandle of Florida. That is great, however, Lake Seminole had one B.U.I. (boating under the influence). The Stripers and Hybreds have slowed down their biting or moved to another part of the Lake. There was hundreds of both in the lower Spring Creek area for a while. That did not last long as the feed moved. Most likely soon as the heat cools, they will take up normal eating habits. We look forward to a good summer of boating and fishing as the folks seem to like being close to home nowdays. Sorry
no pics this week, weren’t none to be had. For more of Jack's writing see his books, available only at Wingate's
