Seminole Ramlin's

February 19, 2006

The week past had a temp range from 28° to 75°. If it happened over nite it would peel the paint on your pickup truck. The weather settled down for the weekend. Several big catches of Perch was made Saterday. Then Sunday a few more was made but the cold made a change and so did the Perch.

The Big BFL Stratus/Javalin had very good results the last of the week. The weather stayed good until the 3pm weigh-in was half over then the temp dropped 10 to 15° in a hurry. The winners went something like this, Howard Cartright and Heath Annin of Havana, FL took first place with 41.14 lbs. to take home $4,387.50 as first prize. They also had Big Fish both days. They sed they caught one fish in practice but they run to the flats and used a Spinner Bait over the grass in 2 to 6 ft. 2nd place went to David Johnson of Mariana, FL with 41.13 lbs. of Bass in two days to receive $2115.00. 3rd place went to Randall Carter and Rickie Knight of Maplesville, AL with 33.11 lbs. to receive $1690.00. There was 66 boats that started the tournement.

We are just around the corner from some top notch spring fishen. 25 boats fished out of Seminole Lodge with the Redneck Trail, 17 lbs. won it.

Next weekend we have two great tournement series fishen out of Wingates. On Saterday we have the Fishermen For the Hungry and on Sunday the Valley Sportsman Tournament. They are both buddy tournements and have some good prizes.

Perch was one of the better catches of the weekend. Some fine fish came in and I think it’s just begun. We are seeing signs of the spring coming. Many pair trees are in bloom.

Johnson and Stevenson of Mariana, FL with some nice Bass caught in the BFL tournement on Saterday.
