Seminole Ramlin's

August 27 , 2006

A lot’s of times when I’m away from home come sundown I am reminded about a hound dog that Jimmy Wells use to own, name was Buck. He’d hunt with us boys all nite if you wanted but when sunup come Buck went home and lay down on the porch. It’s just reverce with me, when sundown comes I want to be close to my own bed.

This bit of information came to me Saterday bout noonish, up the “hooch” in the cornfield there has been a rite sizable fish kill reported, one boat reported some 10 fish was diped up in dip nets, catfish, gar, jackfish, carp, sucker and bream, what’s doing it?

Well, well, well, Mr. and Mrs. Bass are begening to wake up. Not first rate yet but good, Predmore had one bite but it weighed 6 1/2. Another boat had one at 7 ½ lbs., another reported 4 nice bass, he’s from Lake County, Fla. 3 other boats reported 3 each boat.

Thank goodness we still have Bream on beds, they have bit this week. A great many limits of Bream taken on Crickets, some were taken on Wigglers and Pond Worms. Several smacking good catches of Speckle Perch came in on Minnows and of course Black Jigs with Chartreuse Tails.

The Catfish showed up with a pile of them all this week, some with 65 gooduns in them. We seem to be broke out with Catfish this year, anyone can catch them if they fish rite for them.

Well that bout does it for this report and in the words of an old catfisherman who use to live here at the camp with us “I’m out and about”, “Out of whiskey and bout dead”. I’m out of words and real sleepy.
