Seminole Ramlin's August 20 , 2006 Again we fail to put Bass as our No-1 bread and butter fish this week. However, it’s getting much better. This past Saterday many 2 lbs. Bass were taken in 2 ft. of water. They were there so as to be feeding on Small Bream that are bedding in 2 ft. of water. One party found 5 new beds Saterday and a couple more Sunday. No one on them at all. But, Bream is still our bread and butter fish of the week. Many limits of Bream was taken this week. The most were taken on Crickets, however a lot was taken on worms also. Some days they will do one thing and other days they will do another. A great many was taken on Fly Rodws using floating pop-ers. Sunday morning Miss Tut, one of the cooks here at Wingates, was presented with bout 40 nice hand-sized Bream taken on Crickets. She fishes less and ketches more than anyone I know. Almost everyday folks limits out on Perch with Jigs. The Black on Chartrusse is the best Jig that we have found to fill your box with Perch. Catfish has been slow for us this week. They jist mite pick up this coming week. I was this past Thursday in Nashville to attend a “Ray Scott” banquet, while I was there I began to notice little yellow butterflies drifting south. Not many but enough to notice there was movement. The winter time blackbirds were there in droves. That don’t mean that frost is on the way but a sure cool down by the 15th day of September. If you are up and about before daylite you will need a lite sweater. I am sorry to have missed the D Battery celebration in Bainbridge. I was going to be there, but try as I may, I cain’t be in 2 places at onct. The picture is of Sandy Bylaska from Port Charlotte, FL with two of the nice Bass she caught this weekend.
