Seminole Ramlin's April 30, 2006 To those who have fished Lake Seminole in the past 2 weeks and had trouble with falling water, well we think we have the ansure. The Gulf Coast Sturgeon has run up the Appalachicola River in droves. This we think has caused the river to be lowered almost continuly for 2 weeks. The Annual Shellcracker Tournement held out of Spring Creek Resort and hosted by the Lake Seminole Lions Club was won by Terrance Bryant, her 25 fish weighed in at 11.1 lbs. The Big Fish weighed in at 1.2 lbs. 2nd Place was Mr. Green, 3rd went to Terry Bryant. Some 70 to 80 boats fished. Everyone had fun and the place was busy. A local young man, Justin Ball, 18 years old, fished a buddy tournement on Lake Blackshear and placed 6th and won $350 to take home. His father had him fishen at 2 and now he’s starting his 2 year old daughter out with minnows. That’s the way to gitten started. The B.F.L. Tournement held out of Sneeds Landing was won on the boater side by John Kremer of Sanford, FL with 22.3 lbs. Alan Lamb of Donalsonville, GA with 21.6 lbs. got 2nd. Walt Starling of Live Oak was 3rd with 17.5. Alan Lamb had the Big Fish with an 8 lbs. Bass. The Co-Angler side was won by Ben Broughton of Day, FL with 15.15 lbs. Michael Wiles of Perry, FL was 2nd with 13.10 lbs. Sean Creel of Panama City was 3rd with 12.11 lbs. He had the Co-Angler Big Fish with 7.8 lbs. All this took place in very muddy water on the Hooch and a high wind just a gittin it.
