Seminole Ramlin's September 17, 2006 The Seniors Tournement out of the State Park put in 38 boats. Mr. Orme and McDevit won the 2 day event with 10 fish that tipped the scales at 32.46 lbs. Dunihue and Bunnion had 10 at 29.75 lbs. and the Big Fish at 7.11 lbs. Bak and Bak took 3rd with 22.08 lbs. Those 76 or so Fishermen are Senior Citizens or Ole Timers. Not a bad showing for old folk. The Extreme Bass Series launched 96 boats and they were fishen for a $100,000. That encluded a Ranger Boat and Trailer plus the balance in cash. For some, “Ole Sem” woke up and others it didn’t. The Hydrilla Gnats launched out of Wingate’s on Sunday. Chris Neely came in 1st, Mike Prindle came in 2nd and Andy Koundourakis came in 3rd. This club is based here at Wingate’s and features local fellers. They’ll be having an open tournament on the 4th of November. Ya’ll come out and support ‘em. We had several Gator Hunters Saterday morning. One had a 12 footer, another had a 6 ½ footer, another had 3 at 5 foot each. All were in site of the dock in our campground. A limit kill of Teel was taken by 2 hunters late Saterday evening over decoys. Others have had good luck with the same method. Jamie Bush & Bobby Hand of Faceville had the most handsome stringer of Shellcracker we’ve seen in a long time. Them boys done good. Water temp up the creek at the bridge Sunday was 76°. This picture is of Julie Lawrence of Atlanta, GA with a 12 foot plus gator she got on the first night of the season. With her is Benny West, local gator guide.
