Seminole Ramlin's December 11, 2005 Tis been another mixed up week, why this past Thursday I got up confused as to what day it was and took a allover bath and it twernt even Saterday. Mrs. Pam Martin Wells killed a deer at sunset and we got to eat some of him slow smoked at sunset next evening. T’was good and had a real gamie taist that was great. Steven Wells and friend killed a good bag of ducks on opening day. Several different kinds in the bag including a pair of Mallards. Just you listen to this, last year a person in America was more apt to be killed by these figures: deer 131, bees 43, dogs 4, rattle snakes 10, spiders 4, sharks 1, scorpions 67, rats 33 and bears 13. There was no alligators listed though I knew there was a few in So. Florida. While thinking on it, a local ladie was bitten on the arm by a recluse spider. She had a bottle of peroxide handy and turned it up on the bite. It killed the poisen in the bite and so far it hasn’t swelled up. That’s one to think on. Duck Season opened up with a real “Good Show” as one of the old entertainers would say. Many Pintails, Gadwall, Ringnecks, Woodys and Mallards aplenny. A quotable quot that I heard a hunter say, “He didn’t like to hunt nuthin that was likely to eat him or to bite him.” He’s got a point there. Eddie Ditto, above all odds caught a nice catch of Bass with one at 7 lbs. Other folks have been doing good on certain lures that produce regular, in fact one Bass went 9 lbs. The Perch has had a good run over in the Creek so folks tell me. Limit catches have been made on Minnows and Grass Shrimp. Those Shrimp can be bought on Spring Creek Road. Now as Yogi Berri use to say, “The bottom liss pit gits deaper.” Those of you who remember Joe Godard, who was veteran of 3 wars and came home, retired and almost lost his life fishen on Lake Seminole by a boating accident. Mr. Joe passed this past week and a nice work of prayer is in order for his family. They are in Albany, GA but is world wide. The picture is of Steve and Casey Rice with the ducks they killed while out with guide, Steven Wells on Saturday.
