Settin at Clark’s Land on Crooked River this past Saterday, frying fish and hushpuppies, there was this invention that I had never seen before. My kin, Mr. Clark had him a double hushpuppie dropper-inner. I have used a single dropper-inner before but danged if I’ve ever seen a double. Folks thinks of everything. Carrabelle and Crooked River is where half of my ancesters came from. It’s a tidal river by flowing one way six hours and the other way six hours. Bigest ole Bream and Shellcrackers you ever saw.

That area has had 9 inches of rain in the past 2 weeks, all the ponds, sloughs and creeks are running water and the crawfish are in the road ditches.

The Baker Co. Bass Masters of near Jacksonville went like this: Cantrell and Cantrell had most fish at 20.02 lbs. Big Fish went to Cliff Wignal with 7.59 lbs.

The Castaways Bass Club was like this: Bill Hinton had 13.5 lbs. of fish and Bill Harod had Big Fish with 5.9 lbs.

Tri-States out of Sneeds Saterday was won by Robert and Rick Tyndall. There was one 11 pounder taken.

Fishen the Soweg out of Trails End, Bobbie and Troy Barfield liked 2 oz. of weighing in 40 lbs. of Bass. Mrs. Bobbie had Most Fish and Big Fish, while Troy was 2nd.

The Tallahassee Bass Masters fished Sunday with Mat Ritch having 14.13 lbs. of Bass and Josh Walsh had Big Fish with 5.47 lbs.

The Perch is in the shallow water in places and a little deeper in others. Mostly on Jigs. I talked to one man and he sed he had never been skunked using minnows, but he did not get a Perch on the minnow. Jigs do the trick for most of the Fishermen. Black and Chartruse is the best color of the Jigs.

Water conditions and temp will be the factor to look at before deciding to fish for bedding Bass. There was talk of one man breaking 2 - 70 lb. test lines on a huge bedding fish.
