Seminole Ramlin's June 19, 2005 Well, well, things changed up for this scribler this week, I got to go Flie Fishen twiced. Good the first trip, fair the second. The fly’s are out most everywhere. We see folks catching them out in deep water with crickets. It has been a real good week on Bream, some say there was no beds, however, there is a plenny of beds of Bream if you know where to look. One boat came in on Tuesday with 43 Bream, took his wife out for 7 more. The Specks ain’t doin so bad for some folks. Thursday a boat by 10 am had 25 nice Specks. Early morning on Saterday, a boat using Jigs had 18 Specks, 2 good Bream and a real good Bass just jigin along the grass beds. Now all week long Catfish has been hungry. Friday in early morning 18 came in jist rite for frying, at noon meal, a boat had 47 gooduns, late in the evening another good mess came in. I don’t know why my thinking always runs to cooken and eating. I ran crost a man living over on Spring Creek who fishes and lives side of a feller that don’t. The non fishen neighbor has a live well on his dock. Mr. Fisherman goes and ketches the fish, dumps them into the live well and no fish neighbor cleans them, gits um ready to drop in oil and call fishen neighbor to supper. What a next door neighbor to have. The Tallahassee Hawg Hunters has got a neat club. Most are grey haired men like myself but still like the thrill of the Strike and tournements. 6 or 8 of them on Saterday morning made this statement, “I never had so many Top Water Bait strikes in my life.” Seems the Pop-ur-er was the hot bait. Marshell Driver left with the Big Fish award with 5.12 lbs. Mr. Gary Baker had the most pounds with 13.13. I mite add that they left the dock in a pouring rain. I mite also add that Mr. Dewey Andrews was on a little trip to Idaho, California and back by Maine. He is one of the founding fathers of the club, in his 80’s and still loves to fish. Here is a couple of good ones to turn in your mind this week. “Remember life is a journey, not a destonation, enjoy the trip.” Here’s the other, “Trying to live a week without the word of God is like trying to live a week without water.”
