Seminole Ramlin's

February 27, 2005

Ye scribes and fishermen listen up, Leon Roy VI, one week old, took in his first boat show last Friday in Tallytown. He’s most likely trying to decide Ranger or Triton. Nuff sed, fur now.

A fisherman in Sunday’s rain and “ice” storm gave me this info on his fresh can of Copenhagen Snuff. He says, “By 8am, my metal top can had begun to squish. I then moved the snuff to a water pruff Rattle Trap box and put it in my shirt pocket. It just got soupy and soggy with water, so I had to throw the whole brand new can of Copenhagen away. What a terrible loss!” ??

The “Fishermen for the Hungry” tournement took place on Saterday here at Wingates and was a great success as it only takes $20 to provide many times that amount for the hungry.

The results for this tournement went something like this, Chris Blackmon and Matt Baty took first place. The team of Brandon Smith and Bradley Enfinger took second. They also had the Big Fish with a 9.78 pounder. It is a great effort to feed people who, for some reason, can’t feed themselves.

I was honored with an invitation to the Climax Appreciation Dinner Saterday nite in the Ole Depot. There was so many things that these fine Dirt Road Sports gave money to, I declare I could not keep up with it. But the ole reliable Joe Crine will tell it like it is. Thank God for sending Joe to our neck of the woods many years ago.

The B.A.S.S. Qualifying Tournement was held here on Sunday by one of my yard younguns who’s done growed up in the “Zoom” world and took a job with B.A.S.S. to put on tournements in the southern region. Lord only knows what that means.

First place went to Craig Reynolds of Bonifay, FL with 20.8 lbs. of solid Seminole Bass. Second place went to David Johnson of Marianna, FL with 17.6 lbs. Third place went to Terry Stevens of Marianna, FL with 17.0 lbs. Tracy Hamilton of Upatoi, GA had Big Fish with an 8.10 pounder. There were many 5 fish limits taken, 18 or so. If you remember Sunday morning, it was cold and raining. Most folks would have turned over and went back to sleep. Lots of the contestants left by 10am, having not dressed for the cold weather, and headed home.

Chris Blackmon and Matt Baty, winners of the Fishermen for the Hungry tournament on Saterday with 19.66 lbs.

Tracy Hamilton of Upatoi, GA with the Big Fish from the B.A.S.S. tournament on Sunday with an 8 lbs. 10 oz. Bass.
