Seminole Ramlin's February 20, 2005 Hear ye, Hear ye, all scribes and fishermen, Leon Roy IIII, whose son Leon Roy V, whose wife just gave birth to twin boys, Leon Roy VI and Hunter, his twin brother. No the twins ain’t caught a fish yet, but their only 4 days old, give them time. The Browns father and son fishing team tuck to the road to Okeechobee. Big Brown will go to the All-American and Kim brung home a whopping check as he placed 5th in frosty weather and hurricane stained water. Good doings you father and sons. Mark your calendars for a great Native American Pow-Wow April 15th to 17th under the bridge at Chattahoochee. All day is free to anyone who wishes to stay. They may stay all night too if they wish. It’s possible that one of the last survivors of the Batan Death March will be there from Oklahoma. Nuf sed. While attending the tribute to Tom Mann in Ufalla Saterday, I learned many things about Tom and his off-springs. First, they loved him one and all. And from the dignitaries that was there, you could tell his friends loved him too. The powers that be got the Montgomery folks to name a piece of 431 Highway “Tom Mann Highway” just as the piece of Highway in Montgomery is named “Hank Williams Hiway” forever selling the state of Alabama to the millions of people who pass those hiways forever more. The mayor of Ufalla made this statement that in Toms early days 70% of all people who lived in Ufalla worked for Tom Mann Indestries. The fact that he poured 25,000 Little Georges tells you how much confidence he had in the Little Lure he invinted. When the first Hummingbird came out, Tom made a deal with Don Miller to cut and sew and diliver 2500 waterproof covers for the Hummingbird. Don Miller lives in Brinson, GA. Space here will not permit me to tell you how many folks wuz at the dedication but I will tell you there was plenny and the song that Tom Mann wrote and some friends in Nashville put to music will most likely become a hit. It’s called “Old poles, fishen holes and a dog named Cherokee.” The Panhandle Division of Bassmaster Series launched 59 boats and the top winners were David Johnson, Marianna, FL with 5 fish at 21 lbs. of Bass, second was Robert Tindell, Leesburg, GA with 18.10 lbs. and Jackie Hamric of Albany, GA with 17.12 lbs. was third. On the No Boaters side, Michael Airhart of Palatka, FL boated 11.2 lbs. of Bass. The Big Fish of the tournement was tied at 6.11 lbs. 3 ways. Hope all had a good time.
