Seminole Ramlin's August 7, 2005
Mr. Carl Keim, from Bass Island Campground here at Wingates, it seems to me like he can smell Perch cause anytime he goes, he generly brings in 15 culled Perch. Mr. Culverson and son is the same way. They jist know where to drop a Minner. Mr. Johnny Davis and son had 7 good Bass Friday with one at 5 & 3/4 lbs. He keeps trying to hit a 6 pounder as he did most every trip last year. But his luck is getting better. Mike Iacannelli has written a book and filmed a DVD on the how too's of the game of fishen. It was filmed on Lake Seminole and we have it for sale at the counter. It's goin' like hotcakes. I got to see him again while up at the Bassmaster Classic. I will try to list some of the Fishen Greats that I was able to meet and greet while at the Classic. Earl Bentz, Peter T, Steve Levi, Ray Scott, Mr. Potts, Bobby Murry, Forrest Woods, Jerry McGinnis, Fish Fishbourne, Denny Braur, Hank Parker, Rick Clunn, Jimmy Houston and "The Coach", who is now head of ESPN 2. He hasn't been here since Chris and Del Golden were cooking in the kitchen. He hung a new name on me that I kindly like, "A Walking Around Relic." On Friday night, young Tanner Martin's parents brought him to Wingates for some of that good Po Boys BBQ for his first birthday. On the way out, they bought him a T-shirt that says, "I'm a Keeper" with the Wingate's logo on it. He loved it so much he was a smilin' and talkin' to everybody. They put it on him for a picture and he smiled right purty. It was quite a site. The world looks great from where I set, hope yours does too.
