Seminole Ramlin's April 24, 2005 I heard that the Gov-mint of Florida should orta round up all their child sex offenders, transport them all out west of Key West to Dry Tortogas Ft. Mite git-em all on the island. Then the same rumor source sed that the GA Gov-mint mite should ortar round up all of Georgias known child sex offenders and put them in a stockaid on Billy’s Island in the middle of the Okeefeenocee Swamp. One way or the other, some one needs to get a handle on this problem. If you are a bowhunter you are invited to attend the 36th annual “Carperee” starting April 30th and May 1st. Come and bring a friend. Outside of Cathy Cox facing a huge crowd in the Park in Bainbridge the next biggest thing is Mr. Buck Rhyner, teacher at Hutto School landed a 3 ½ lbs. Shellcracker in the Flint River below Bainbridge. That is not the state record, which is 6 oz. more, but to me it’s a Big Fish. A side ways photo shows she was not layed out and was 3 inches wide. The Post Searchlight employees, thanks to Mr. Mark Pope, has had a near solid week of ketchin Krackers. With the guests, he’s had near 500 went into the Krisco. Mr. Chris Neely and friend, Kay Bass has loaded up their boat several times this week. Ray Davis, of Bass Island Campground here at Wingates Lodge, has had a good week this week on Krackers and he reported the first siting of Willow Flies. That’s a good sign of a good year coming up. The Willow Fly has to have good water to hatch in. This past “Flood” has changed the grass beds that were there and in Bass Fishen you will have to find new grass walls to fish. But unlike the 1994 flood our food chain did not sweep out of the lake. The water that produces Merritts Mill Pond Marianna, FL, Three Rivers State Park, AL, Spring Creek, GA and Flint River, GA are all one and the same type of water, cold limestone water, that gets the cork screw snails to grow as well as the fresh water shrimp. Food for the Krackers and Bream. The Bennett Family Tournament from the St. Johns River area had about 17 boats go out this past weekend here at Wingates. The winner had 21.34 lbs. and Big Fish was 7.62 lbs.
