Seminole Ramlin's

April 10, 2005

Thank the Good Lord that it’s just some of the folks in Guv-mint that thinks the inventer of the P-Nut Butter and Jelly sandwiches with out the crust of bread should be compensated for it. I guess I’ll just have to be a crimnle. Me and Mis Joyce likes to top off a bed time snack with one of those sandwiches and a glass of milk.

This nice lady, bout a quarter mile from my house, was cleaning yards and burning limbs when all of a sudden a nice size Carp fell out of the sky about 2 feet from where she was standing. She promptly went inside saying when fish fall outta the sky, it’s time to quit.

This past Saterday nite, 2 big coolers of Perch came in 2 boats fishing together. Took 3 men 2 ½ hours to clean them all. All out of muddy water. It seems that some like it clear, while others don’t mind the mud.

Mr. Buddy Capp of Stockbridge, GA caught and landed a 3 lbs. Speckled Perch on a Spinner Bait and 2 casts later, landed a 6 lbs. Coosa Red Eye Bass. It seems that they wanted that perticlar Spinner Bait. About 9 lbs. is the Georgia record for Red Eye Coosa and bout 5 lbs. is the Georgia record for Speckle Perch. Very nice double catch.

Shawn Wells and Jimmy Herrell of Tallahassee landed 2 big keepers after 20 or so small Bass. That sure lit the trip up. They went out with one of the owners of Wingates, guide Mike Sloan of Mike’s Fairly Reliable Guide Service. Catchy name.

Me and Miss Joyce heard that Old Man Jim Beam went after a Wild Turkey in the Canadian Mist. Ha, Ha, so much for that.

The flood waters seem to be going down and most folks say that they are relieved. We here at the camp was never in any danger.

The dates for the 5th Annual Carp Shoot on Lake Seminole is set for April 30th and May 1st, 2005 here at Wingates Lodge.
