Seminole Ramlin's October 3, 2004 Due to the latest in the water wars, this scribler thinks it necessary for south Georgia, from the fall line Augusta, Macon and Columbus, to join Florida and Alabama to seek Federal injunction against the city of Atlanta so as to keep Atlanta from getting 50% more of the water from the Chattahoochee River so as Atlanta can “Grow”. In my opinion, Atlanta is too damn big now! We note that the Guards of the Unknown Soldier has so many restrictions in it, that at the present time only 400 men in America can wear the Badge of the Old Guard. He must commit 2 years of his life to the Guard, live under the tomb in barracks located there, no alcohol, on or off duty for the rest of their lives, cannot swear in public nor disgrace the uniform. Those rules must be for the rest of their lives. He takes 21 steps across the tomb, hesitates for 21 seconds, then about faces, moves his gun to the off shoulder, away from the tomb, and goes again. The Guard is changed every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. The tomb has been patrolled 24/7 since 1930. There is a lot to think about that group of men. The Hybreds have been on a rampage in the Flint River, also over in the Spring Creek area. Let’s hope they continue. Bream seem to be holding their own here on the Flint. We have had fair catches off and on all week. There has been catches of 1 to 2 lbs. Bass on the River all week long. Hope it continues for the fishermen. Please permit me this Auburn joke: How do you spell Y.M.C.A.? The YMCA tournement went out of the Boat Basin Saterday. A nice crowd gathered for the weigh-in. Most folks caught fish, some however, were very small. A 5.7 hit the scales, then a 6.0, then just medioca catches til near the end when the Tindal brothers of Leesburg came in with a near 20 lb. catch. Then the team of Jordan and Jordan tipped the scales at 28 lbs. with a kicker Fish at 7 lbs. to take Big Fish, Most Fish and running a Triton boat was all in their favor. Young Mr. Jordan will be, in my opinion, the Bill Dance of Lake Seminole, and the rest of the fishen world. I must add that the Y tournement pays back more money than any small tournement that we know of.
