Seminole Ramlin's

November 7, 2004

The election was over last Tuesday and Veteran’s Day was over this Tuesday. Both days were days of importance.

The election ment a time to lick over wounds and bind ourselves together for a 4 year period, forget our bygones and the other Tuesday Veterans Day is a day not to forget, some however, cannot forget and we hope no one forgets them that went and did what they were told to do. They were not all heroes, just went and did as they were told. We are glad they went, lets not forget.

This cool snap brought the ducks down from the cold country. Ten or twelve droves of up to 100 in each drove lifted off the grass beds from Faceville Landing to Wingates this past Sunday morning. The lake looks more ducky than in a long time. We shall have ducks this winter.

Jesse Martin and his fishing friend held up 2 slabs of Perch from 2 limits of fish. They were nice fish, all of them. They would have to be split to fry up good. I do like to eat them.

Carl Keim and Amos Frazier had a nice catch of Perch down in Bass Island Campground here at Wingates. We tried to get a picture of their 2 limits, but it was too fuzzy. To participate, bring minnows, boat and pole and hunt a grass wall near deep water.

Bass has had a very special week this week. Better than average week on top water. Most days got our boats a 7 lbs. Bass and one day we produced a 9 pounder. A lot of people fished for Bass.

The Hybreds are on the move. We’ve had lots of the up to 5 & 6 lbs. this week, of course we had lots of them in the pound size too. But all of them eat well.

We have had 2 deer hunters reported bitten by snakes. One almost didn’t make it, he had too much venom in him. The other is OK, only he is still black. Watch your feet and your kids feet.

Keep your chin up and eyes on the middle of the road. Dodge a pot hole to the right, then dodge a pot hole to the left, but stay in the middle of the road.
