Seminole Ramlin's November 14, 2004 This scribbler hopes that I’m not steppin’ outa line when I say I really missed the elected officials at the Thursday Armistice Day Dinner at the V.F.W. Club. I think only three showed up. The veterans are not all dead yet and it takes 24 dozen flags for Green Shade, Cool Springs, Hopewell, Hannatown, Sylvania, White and more every year. I think I would honor them once a year with my presence. Mr. Breedlove, Col. Breedlove, I might add, made this statement, I’ll try to quote, “The most widely recognized symbol in the world today is not “Cat” nor is it “John Deere”, not even “Pepsi”, not even “Coke”, it’s the “American Flag.” He stated, when you are hungry, cold, in danger, and you see the American Flag slowly moving toward you, help is on the way. It’s good to live in a country that is well thought of in most parts of the world. A few places hate us, but most of the world don’t. This week has been a good Speck week, I think because of the draw down. There has been some very good catches made all week long. The pictures are of Rusty Heath and Wes Goodman, who are in a little fishing competition here at Wingates, or so it seems. Their Specks come on minnows and jigs mostly. The wind has crippled the Perch fishermen at certain times of the day. Some days you go at daylite and some days you hit them at sunset. The Bass fishermen had a good week also in spite of the wind. Randy Weaver took 16 one day catching 2 in the morning and 14 in the evening. The Tri-States Classic Tournament was won my Richard Predmore and Jackie Hamric with 31.16 lbs. total and Predmore had Big Fish both days. They left the weigh-in Sunday with their pockets a-jingle. Miss Lisa Opel, a Bassing Lady from Dunellen, Fla. won 4th place in their classic, missing 3rd by one ounce. She’s a classic lady fisherman. Rusty Heath and Wes Goodman, of Wingates Lodge with their nice catches of Specks Lisa Opel from Dunellen, Fla. who won 4th place in the Dunellen Bassmasters Classic Tournament this past weekend
