Jist sitten and watchin the woods and wildlife in it is a lesson every day for me. Fer instance, a guine wasp and a yellow jacket is bout the only creature outside the spider family that can git in a spiders web and git out. We also see that some peach trees bear fruit only on the north side of the tree and persimmons will produce fruit on the sunny side of the tree and not on the shady side.

Tis sed by Bassmaster that Gold Algae is by far the biggest Fish killer in our modern times. Lake Texoma on the border of Texas and Oklahoma is loosing hundreds of fish daily to this algae. In one lake, 19 dump trucks hauled out 3.1 million dead fish out of one big cove. I bet that cove had a stink to it for days.

Bass Legends being inducted into the Bass Fishing Hall of Fame will be Earl Bentz of Triton Boats, George Cochran of Hot Springs, Ark. And former Bass Tournament Director Harold Sharp of Chattanooga, Tenn. They will also honor Billy West Moreland of Celina, Tenn., the first ever to be honored posthumously.

The great sport of fishen is being shown by many folks today in the way they take up time showing young people how to fish. The D.M.F. Worm Co. of Waterford, Mich. gave away 75,000 nite-crawlers to Kid’s Derbys. The Bass Clubs are spending their own time teaching kids to cast in the Bas Kids Casting Contest. And Saterday, at the Tri-States weigh-in, a special-made rod with her name on it was given by a lot of admirers to 13 year old Miss Britney Calhoun, who, with her father, has been fishen tournements 3 years. There is nuthin like the grin on a kids face when they hook a fish.

This weeks Bass Fishen has been dominated by the female gender. Troy Barfield had his limit of 5 fish at 8am, Mrs. Barfield caught and culled his 5 fish to bring in a big catch of fish. A lady from Pensacola cooked her husband by taken the Big Bass of the trip. A neat couple from the Thousand Islands here to fish the Bass of Seminole took more Bass than he in a 3 day 6 trip fishen trip. Women are into everything now days.

Back in the early days of my life, a sure cure for the pinkeye and sore eyes was to take a child to the cow pen and squirt raw milk from the cows bag into the kids eyes. Worked every time.

The Tri-States Bass Tournement was won my Smith and Kirkland of Panama City, Fla. with 22.7 lbs. of Bass. The Valdosta Bass Busters was won by Ronnie O’Neal with 13 lbs. of Bass. The Bream and Catfish has been the hottest thing going this week.
