Seminole Ramlin's February 1, 2004 The Fishers Of Men Southwest Georgia Division was a great success. The First Baptist Church at Faceville prepared for 40 people and dadgum if 70 didn’t show up to eat. Po Boys BBQ at Wingates donated the Baby Back Ribs and they had enough food to feed them all. Next morning looked like all 70 of them ate Breakfast at Wingates. The weigh-in took place at 3pm rite on the dot. Corley and Jarret of Columbus layed the first hog on the scales, before we could say scat, Branham and Harmess of Chipley, FL layed a stringer of Sow Bass with the Big Fish at 6 lbs. Then Beaver and Derrick of Leesburg, GA layed up a stringer of 3 to 4 pounders on the scales and it turnt out to be the 2nd place stringer. Several more folks weighed in good fish then Creel and Stewert come up to the scales with a sack of Sow Hogs, well we wuz all so flabbergasted I near dropped my Pollie-Roid picture taker. They wuz 27.99 lbs. of fish in that bag. They had the Big Fish and second Big Fish and maybe third Biggen, but each team can only weigh-in 1 Big Fish per team. At Breakfast I tole Mr. Stewart we needed 24 lbs. out of him at weigh-in. All the Fish was kept alive in the holding tank, then all were carried to the Keep-Alive Tank on the Release Boat and carried back out to the River. All swam away to bite again. We look forward to the R&R next weekend where the Fish will more than likely be the same as this week or better. Three men slid into the dock after the weigh-in telling of the first 5 Fish caught Saterday on Traps hit 25lbs. Then 40 more lbs. of Bass was taken, then 19 Jackfish came to the boat with 15 good sized Specks, Bass and Specks on Ratlin Baits, Jacks on Spinner Baits. We then had a Perch Boat, 2 men fishen with 40 culled Perch. They reported that another boat near them had 60 good-uns. Last Monday our water was 60° and dropped to 56 by Friday, when the water gets up to 60° and sets there awile the Lake will come alive on all types of Sport Fish.
