Seminole Ramlin's

December 26, 2004

I have sed before that when one retired, he starts to fall apart. But me, I’m fallin back together and I now have proof of it. While shopping for “spirits” for my friends’ presents, I had to show my ID card. I guess the cashier mistook my gray hair for blond hair. Oh well, t’wernt this way it would be some other way.

Our family had a great Christmas. Ye-scribe started to cook breakfast at 5:30 am and cooked and et all day long. A good wholesome Christmas.

For those who have asked me about cloclet gravy, here is the recepe, 1 cup sugar, 4 Tablespoons of Cocoa, 4 Tablespoons of plain flour, ½ teaspoon of salt, and 2 cups of sweet milk. Mix dry ingredients and sift through a sifter. Take ½ cup of milk and mix with dry ingredients. Heat the remaining milk and ¼ stick of butter in a hot skillet. Pour the mix into the skillet and stir until thick. Pour over hot biscuits.

Many new Ducks come to the Lake with the cold freezes just north of us. The shooting Friday and Christmas morning was good. I was on the porch at 6 minutes to 7 and you could hear guns going off everywhere. Mostly Ring Necks with a few others throwed in. Lot of Geese hereabouts.

The Perch are in a biting mood if the wind will slow down so the boats can stay put and not drag anchors. They are quality fish.

The hard core Bass Fisherman will be glad the holidays are over so they can be back on the Lake counting strikes. The limit counts are coming in good. We all are looking forward to the early tournements this next spring. The Bobby Dews tournement date has not been set at this time that I know of, nor the place.

We at Wingates will be open on New Year’s Day with the New Year’s traditional dinner and our buffet will be there also. You all have a Happy New Year.

Sorry, no pictures this week - nobody brought anything in worth taking.
