Seminole Ramlin's August 1, 2004 As we begin to enter the city of Charlotte, NC where the 2004 Bass Master Classic was being helt, 3 lanes of traffic going in and 2 cars a minute leaving in the opposite lanes and what did we see? Walking on the outgoing lane there was a Hobo, big pack on back, left hand holding a sign where he was going, right hand holding a cell phone to his ear. Don’t reckon thangs is too bad off when Hobo’s can afford cell phones. The downtown part of Charlotte must be mighty expensive, cause there is one building built like an ice cream cone. It’s bigger at the top than at the bottom. The National Anthem was sung on day one by one of the original Platters. He did a great job. The second nite was a 10 year old girl who climed the stage before 20,000 people and sang the National Anthem without missing a note. No stage fright at all, a pure class act. The third day was Marc Lendhal, who sang a good-un with a little country/western swing. He was from Nashville. Triton Boats and Mercury Motors gave the two Jr. Classic winners 2 fully rigged tritons and trailers to the two young boys. The Wal-Mart Kids Casting Contest Finalist was a little girl from Conyers, GA against a young lady from Canada. The kid from Canada won. The 2004 Classic Winner was from Japan. Tokashira Omari, 2nd place was Aron Marten of Texas, 3rd was Keven Vandaqm of Kalamazoo, Mich., last years winner. A truly great Classic. Pittsburg, PA will be the 2005 site of the Classic. There’s not much of a fishing report since I was out of town at the Classic.
