Seminole Ramlin's

October 5, 2003

The city of Dallas, Texas is out of drinking water, now thinking of a pipeline almost to the East Texas line for drinking water. Oklahoma City is out and fixing to build a pipeline Northwest and Southeast to pull water from dams already built. Atlanta is in the same shape but the only thing we don’t ever hear is to stop “building” in these places. Seems to me the gov-mint should at least give that a try.

Having made one trip out on the Lake since returning from Oklahoma and found the Lake going down in a hurry, the Bass bite was slow but we took Bluegill and Specks in good numbers. They are along the grass walls that are along the River bed where it drops off fast to 20 or 25 feet. To catch the Perch with minnows, one must work the grass wall in about 2 foot steps down to 4 feet, then move on. The Jig and Fish slowly with a tite line.

The 1st annual YMCA Sammy Gray Bass Tournament was a great success and the contestants well pleased. The Lake level fell all day long and folks who did well on Friday could not buy a bite on Saterday, but it was fair to the whole field of contestants.

The team of Brinson and Black took third place, they had mostly Shoal Bass from up River. Johnson and Taylor was second with 12 plus pounds. Then Baukom and Pearson came in with 14.12 pounds and the Big Fish. The Big Fish was taken by Baukom and was an 8 lbs. plus. Second Big Fish was taken by Mr. Taylor with an almost seven lbs. fish. Lots of small Fish was taken. Most all went back to the Lake with our Pontoon Boat with a tank on it. We welcome all tournaments and the boat will be available if we know your tournament is coming.

Seminole has several big tournaments scheduled before Christmas and several in the early Spring. We at Wingate’s welcome them.

These pictures are of the 1st and 2nd place winners in the Sammy Gray tournament on Saterday.

Mr. Baukom and Mr. Pearson won 1st place and also had the Big Fish at 8 lbs. They had a total of 14.12 lbs.

Mr. Taylor won 2nd place and had two nice fish at 4 lbs. and 7 lbs.
