Seminole Ramlin's

November 30, 2003

On October 3rd 1863 during the middle of the worst war our nation ever fought, President Lincoln declared the last Thursday in November as a national holiday of Thanksgiving.

One of the pilgrims, Mr. Winslow wrote home to England that they had plenny to eat and wished their kin in the old country could share their good fortune. This plenny was brought on by the Native Americans in a friendly gesture, showed the newcomers how to plant and where to plant Native foods.

At this time in 1950 the Marines were caught and surrounded by thousands of Chinese near the Chosin Reservoir in Korea. They lost about 9000 men to bullets and ice, half and half. They fought a battle on both sides, front and rear, but about the 8th of December they got back and linked up with our men. Most have forgoten those days.

A major polytiction onct sed the best barometer that you can have to tell when we are fixin to have a war, is when Congress cuts back Defense spending.

All the Fishen here on Lake Seminole has been very slow for the most parts. Bass will take a Crank Bait slowly moved around the grass beds. Big Bladed Spinners will also take a few.

The Perch that bit this week were slow but the Deep Fishing shows signs of emprovement. A catch of sixty was recorded and culled to 20 big ole slabs. Winter time fishen is here and it looks better.
